Three Rope Climbing Techniques

= GUIDANCE for CHALLENGE PROCTORS =

  1. Sponsors serving as Challenge Proctors must download the JAGWAR’s “Triple-R Induction Challenge” Risk Assessment (DD Form 2977) and appropriately tailor it to reflect the specifics of that installation’s "Triple-R Challenge”. Proctors will provide the Risk Assessment to the host installation’s OSJA. For more info, check the Sponsorship page.

  2. Proctors will facilitate development of a 4-mile run route and 10-mile ruck route originating and ending at the minimum 20’ climbing rope.

  3. The Proctor will be responsible for submitting to the servicing OSJA the JAGWAR’s Application—as a Non-Federal Entity (NFE) and Private Organization (PO)—to obtain approval to conduct its activities on-Post in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 210-22. (Be advised that page 1 requires Adobe Acrobat to input the specified Army installation.)

  4. REFERENCES: Print the following authorities and append them to the Application as Exhibit 1.

  5. Candidates must sign and submit to the Sponsor/Proctor their Liability Waiver prior to undertaking the Challenge.

  6. Proctors are HIGHLY encouraged to secure a JAGWAR member “Pacer” to participate alongside Candidates to encourage their completion within the time limit.

  7. Proctors will weigh Candidates’ rucksacks prior to beginning the ruck march using a hanging digital scale. The weight should not include the mandatory water source. Proctors must insist that all Candidates undertake the Triple-R Challenge with adequate and accessible water supplies.

  8. Proctors will document the Candidates’ event completion times on the “Triple-R Challenge” completion certification form.

  9. The JAGWAR asks Sponsors to take pictures of Candidates undertaking the Challenge for inclusion in the Candidate's application and in the JAGWAR website's "News" section.
